TWAS the Week 4 of 2025
The Rundown...
新年快樂. I think we are enough days removed from the New Year to talk a little bit about reality. This week I learned what "Active Dying" is. Last Thursday, the nurse gave my Mom three days to live. A week later she is still with us. It has been a whirlwind of emotions and tasks to figure out the logistics of where her final hours will be spent and where her body will rest.
It was also the second week of my triathlon training which has been a helpful reprieve from the constant pulse of the oxygen pump. This is the first time I have had to deal with a loved one in hospice and I am grateful for the support of my wife, family, and friends who have provided a meal train so I have one less thing to worry about day-to-day.
The Watch List
- The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - Satire of Nicolas Cage playing himself. Worth wasting a couple of hours on.
- The Siege of Jadotville - A solid war tale of unlikely combatants. Right up my alley.
- Back in Action - Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx pair up for some really awful acting and predictable story lines. Skip this one.
- SAS: The Rise of the Black Swan - Meh meh acting, but a better watch than Back in Action.
The Linked List
- Reverse Engineering My #1 Hacker News Article - a breakdown of HN virality.
- How to improve your WFH lighting to reduce eye strain - reference to fix wifey's office.
- Samara Backyard XL-8 - beautiful modular homes with all-in pricing. Just add land - which might be the hard part in the Bay Area.
- Petrol Poodle: 981 GT4 Review - becoming difficult to resist the beck and call of the 981 GT4.
